1 egg
2 Tablespoon sugar
30 grams butter
3/4 cup milk
2 cups Self-Raising Flour
pinch of salt
Method:
- Beat and egg and sugar together until thick in a small bowl
- Sift together flour and salt in large bowl
- Melt butter
- Make well in flour
- Stir in the egg mixture and butter
- Add enough milk to make a soft-non-sticky dough
- Turn onto a lightly floured board
- Knead lightly to make a smooth dough
- Pat out to about 3cm depth
- Cut using plain scone cutters
- Place onto papered tray touching each other
- Brush tops with milk
- Bake in hot oven for 1-12 minutes at 270 degrees centigrade
- Allow to cool.
